Chapter 2
(Corellian Sector, Corellia, Coronet City, Corellian Security HQ, "CafSec" tapcaf)

"It was not" said Darron Bren marginally put out, rubbing his right eye with the palm of his hand. Yawning loudly he traced his fingers along the line of a notable facial scar that ran across his left cheek. This was the last conversation he wanted to start his day with but what was worse was that he knew this was coming since last night.

His partner, Lena Lennox, the slender woman to his left, cupped her hands around a fresh cup of steaming caf inhaling the aromatic scent of the stim. Her long auburn hair was tied into a single pony tail revealing a graceful neckline. She wore the same dark evergreen flight suit as him with the slight difference that hers was tapered to suit her smaller frame more comfortably.

"It was to…" said Lena in a sing-song tone of an "I told you so". She took another sip of her caf and decided it needed fixing. Darron watched overloaded the dark amber brew with Selonian sweetener, just how she liked it. Lena eyed him in return with a knowing glare almost mischievously and he knew what this entailed. She had him in her sights and she was not one to break off so close to a clean kill.

"Some caf with your sweetener?" asked Darron sarcastically attempting an evasive maneuver. He knew it was futile really.

"It's grown on me for the last few weeks" she replied putting another packet of powdered sweetener into her drink, stirring the liquid as the particles dissolved. "Say what you want about Selonians but their legal drugs are delicious. Oh, and it was to!"

"Fine," said Darron giving in, dismissing the notion to continue further. He took a gulp of his carbonated citrate juice. He even knew his previous arguments held no atmosphere, "next time, I'll go under deep cover into the smuggler's nest and you provide the air cover."

"You slagged that entire building" said Lena, shaking her head adamantly putting down her cup. Her hand came up to her face covering up a budding smile.

"It was abandoned." replied Darron casually but wanting to win a point, regardless of how small. He ran his hands through his short lightly spiked black hair and yawned again not fully awake yet. "Besides, who let them get to that building again? I just found the fastest way to stop them with the least amount of effort."

"You mean with the most amount of breaking." she retorted with accusing purple eyes but her resolve to keep her composure was dissolving. The corners of her mouth started to scrunch and signaled a prelude to laughter. Darron decided pressed the advantage here. "Half of Coronet had no power for 6 hours."

"Only the kriffed up half." countered Darron rubbing his neatly trimmed goatee in faux seriousness, looking up innocently. He folded his sizable arms nonchalantly with a smirk. "How was I suppose know there was a power distribution conduit there?"

"Language Captain Bren…" chided Lena giving her partner a slap to the shoulder with a pair of black flight gloves. She did laugh as Darron predicted winning his point. He grinned with his slight victory taking another gulp of his morning juice a bit more satisfied.

Their careers in the Corellian Security Force, or Corsec for short as it was known by most, was usually fraught with routine and datapad pushing. Flight officers of CorSec were known to be some of the best pilots in the sector, and by simple galactic inference, the best pilots in the galaxy. After all they were Corellian and as such they were charged with keeping the peace of the system, enforcing the laws within their jurisdiction. Smuggling, piracy, and the regular assortment of petty crime to higher end felonies like terrorism, drug running, and murder were all investigated by Corsec.

Occasionally, there were breaks from the standard routine patrols and data filing. Tips concerning illicit activities usually filtered through the intricate, and often times sketchy, network of criminal informants. Other information concerning felony crimes were received from low end snitches working backroom deals to avoid life sentences to Kessel, or worse.

In the case Darron and Lena recently closed, both informants and snitches bartering for lighter sentences led to the shutdown of an extensive spice smuggling ring. Over 14 weeks of surveillance and undercover operations lead to enough evidence of non-medicinal spice running on all five planets in the Corellian system. The trick in this case however, was to stage raids on all known smuggling dens on all five planetary bodies throughout the sector simultaneously. Had one den had enough time to contact the others, the smuggler branches off world would of closed shop, packed up, and hyped, laying low till the heat was off. It would later fester again as such criminal activity often does.

The smuggler's main den of operations, running on the outskirts of Coronet City, was discovered to be in the old abandoned industrial sector. The final closure to the investigation called for a direct meeting with the main supplier for spice in the sector to be caught purple-handed with the drug evidence needed along with the other raids off Corellia. Lena had gone under deep cover as a high end glit-distributor, tracking the suppliers that could get quantities that would supply an entire sector with illegal merchandise. A deal was being brokered for sums in the area of a hundred million credits, to start. The end result would be the seizure of over 20 standard tons of unsanctioned illegally processed glitterstem, the most potent form of spice in the galaxy.

The operation had gone smoothly till the head supplier, a Selonian by the name of Ryscchal, insisted on providing a demonstration of the potency of his product while demanding a higher asking price per volume. Using one of his sterile female companions as the test subject, Ryscchal forced a small packet of the purple photo-reactive substance in to her mouth. Once the drug was exposed to light its potent properties were activated. When ingested after exposure, glitterstem allows the user to have temporary psychic abilities which in a controlled processed environment could be used for medicinal application such as psychoanalysis. Long term usage however proved to be rather detrimental to the mind inducing schizophrenic paranoia, delusions, and eventually blindness.

Leisurely abusive use, as was the intent of this spice, did not bode well for the undercover Lena. As the drugs effect on the Selonian concubine began to take effect, Lena would be found out as a Corsec undercover operative. Previous dealings with all suppliers on various off world dens leading to Rysschal himself had been through encrypted holo-transmissions in which underground "code" phrasing made making clean prosecution sketchy. These dens however were sliced and backtracked through their own holo-feeds giving away their facilities throughout the Corellia System. As a further benefit the effect of glitterstem would not work on a holographic transmission. After all, who wants their minds read during a drug deal?

A matter of trustful deception was enforced for all underworld dealings which ironically was a world that was always truly to be deceitful. Deals for glitterstem for that reason were even more carefully handled. As an undercover "buyer" you have no idea who may be abusing and therefore ease-dropping on your inner most thoughts.

Darron had signaled all specialized ground units and fellow investigators off-world to move in once the gliterstem was taken and before its effects could be fully realized. The Corsec units blitzed all other tracked smuggling holds in armored land speeders as the main unit under his direction smashed in the smuggling den for the main raid, and more importantly to Darron, Lena's extraction. Along with his role as commander of the op, Darron was to provide aerial support to prevent escaping vessels from fleeing their jurisdiction. The raid ignited into a blaster fight with Ryscchal's well-armed entourage of personal guards and mercenaries. The Selonian drug king pin fled, running for an abandoned warehouse building that formerly produced plasteel polymers during the height of the Vong War. The industrial structure now housed his smuggling freighter and pleasure vessel, Sleeker II, a modified Corellian YZ-2500.

Not wanting to prolong a pursuit into space along with increasing the likely hood of Ryscchal's escape Darron made a quick choice of fire power over tact. As the old storage doors of the warehouse opened, he had positioned his X-wing to cover the exit, with s-foils locked. However, instead of targeting the freighter itself, which no doubt had illegal military grade shielding and armor, he used his four Incom XI7 laser canons to reduce the industrial support columns of the warehouse to smoking rubble. The entire structure imploded on top of the Sleeker II pinning the freighter underneath several tons of duracrete debris. A few more well-placed warning shots from his laser canons on Ryscchal's remaining entourage neutralized them as a threat. A series of secondary explosions however destroyed an underground power distribution hub which caused the major blackout in Coronet City, "The kriffed up half."

"…and therefore, it was SO your fault." said Lena smugly satisfied with her conclusion.

"Yeah, well," said Darron with a sigh. "last time I save your rear Lieutenant."

"No it's not," she replied, her mock seriousness had soften further into playful banter, "and you know it."

"Unfortunately… " he said dryly but his slight grin showed he was not serious.

"Sabacc tonight?" asked Lena changing the subject, finishing her caf with an eager and slightly wired look. The "legal drugs" were definitely kicking in. "My place, I'll make ryshcate. We'll celebrate our big bust."

"Can't" answered Darron disappointedly, "I'm behind on reports and apparently if you blackout Coronet the paper work increases exponentially. Maybe I should of let Rysschal escape, would have been less bytes to file. Now I'm gonna miss out on your ryshcate."

"No Ryshcate for Rysschal" said Lena in a playful sing-song voice. Now completely wired, she giggled at her silly rhyme. Her serious side returned just as quickly. "That wouldn't have been like you then. Would it? If you had just let him get away."

"I guess not." acknowledged Darron giving his partner a slightly forced smile.

Lena was sipping and partially licking the caf drip remnants of her emptied cup. Darron eyed her with a questioning glace but dismissed the budding comment in his mind, polishing off his own morning beverage feeling more alert.

"I filed my reports last night." she announced rather contently, finally put the empty caf cup down.

"Now you're just rubbing it in." he accused as the last remark sounded a little too happy for his taste. Darron crushed the thin metal of his empty citrate container tossing into a nearby waste receptacle. Maybe it was just too early in the morning, it was always too early in the morning in his opinion. He placed a hand on the back of his neck and shoulders in a light stretch to work out kinky stiff muscles. Lena's on coming retort was cut before it started as the comlink on his arm chimed. "Captain Bren here, go"

"Corsec control has detected unusual activity in the old Center Point sector. Four ships, unknown make." said a Corsec dispatcher through his comm "They are not transmitting to the Tralus local authority and comms when silent 10 minutes ago. Corell Squadron has been dispatched to inspect. All available units are requested as back up."

"Copy that, Bren and Lennox en route in 5." said Darron standing. Lena follow suit picking up her flight helmet. He looked at his partner and nodded reassuringly. "Another day, another credit, let's hype."

(Hyperspace en route to the Adega System, Ossus)

The first jump to hyperspace is always one of awe and excitement. The swirling blue and white of a billion stars as a starship is whipped to a speed beyond practical measure, beyond light itself. There is special magic here, similar to that of a child being exposed to an ocean  for the first time, an endless ocean of wonder. Once you've lost count of how many ocean trips you've made in a lifetime however the matter becomes one of normalcy and the magic is no more than background. This has become the case for Jaina stared grimacing at her tactical display rather than the interstellar ocean of blue and white before her. The problem she was faced with became truly apparent as the new numbers on her tactical display revealed disheartening news.

"Pure Sabacc again?" she asked aloud to her astrogation droid.  "You sliced the program didn't you?"

Cappie warbled a raspberry the accusation. Jaina turned to her rear canopy view with a look of suspicion at her mechanical flight companion.

"Riiight…" said Jaina exaggeratedly not satisfied, facing forward again. "I'm checking the program later rust for circuits. I better not find anything...".

Jaina yawned with her mouth uncovered being by herself and her droid, "…fuh-unny."

"Sorry, I haven't been sleeping well lately" she said. Cappie hummed worriedly and made a suggestion on her tactical screen.

"I guess I could," replied Jaina "but I never could get sleep in here. I'll do some refreshers. Nudge me when we're close."

Taking a breath, Jaina closed her eyes from the flicker of hyperspace. She flowed into the Force, breathing slowly, feeling her heart rate do the same. Time and space faded as it became white and dark all at once.

She cried holding Jacen, resting his motionless head on her lap. Here is where her galaxy had ended and yet she continued. Caressing his face gingerly her heart gives in to her emotions. Tears fall. A heart stops.

'Why?'

"Choose and act…"

The white and blue ocean crashed upon Jaina again as she awoke. The sound of a timer count down dropped to a minute drew her focus. She was close to emerging from hyperspace. She raised her hand to rub the lingering fatigue from her eyes but the yellow blast visor of her helmet blocked gloved fingers.

"Stang it…" she cursed she flipping up the visor, rubbing her eyes with the back of her gloved hand. "How long was I out?"

Cappie whistled a reply to her muttered rhetorical question as the droid put the exact figure in minutes and seconds. A Jedi refresher technique had turned into a moment of rare sleep but as per usual, it wasn't blissful.

"Figures" she said, letting loose a sigh. Maybe it was better she didn't know how long she was out. At least then she could have pretended she had gotten some real rest with a self-induced "mind trick".

"What time is it at the Academy planet side?" New script appeared on the display giving her again a time figure to the very second. "Well, I won't wake anyone this time at least."

The XJ7 dropped out of hyperspace slowing to the cruise speed of sublight. Jaina angled her fighter toward the brown planet's atmosphere aiming for a speck of brownish green in the distance along the horizon. She could feel the renewed life of this planet reaching out through the Force. The fighter slipped though the cloud cover of the upper atmosphere as she looked upon the uneven surface of the planet bearing the scars of devastation a few millennia earlier. Yet Ossus was alive again and once more it was home to Jedi Knights. Some of them could sense Jaina coming and reached back to her in the Force. They warmly welcomed her back home.

The landing field was mostly empty but the area was populated with a variety of craft ranging from small single-seat starfighters like her X-wing class but from an earlier series of XJ, to larger lightly armed freighters mainly used for hauling supplies and mass transport. A brown Yuuzahn Vong transport analog was nested into a far corner of the field apparent "refueling" by digesting raw minerals from a rock quarry. A variety of dark green plants took hold into the surrounding areas around the field, some of which flowered with a variety of darker pastels. A tall wall of thick brown brush across from Jaina appeared to act as a border for another area for the Academy grounds as it separated the landing field from whatever laid beyond it. It was a training area if Jaina recalled the layout of the temple grounds correctly, but she was not completely sure not having too much time to train here on previous visits.

Smaller structures, leading to the temple, were formed from the brown stone native to the planet. Just beyond the landing field was the newly established Jedi Academy itself. The enormous brown four-sided pyramid rose into the sky to be topped off by another pyramid structure placed upside down at its flattened apex. This created a symmetrically angular, bottom heavy, hourglass-look to the academy which bared similar angular design aspect to the former Massassi Temples of Yavin IV. The four faces of the pyramid ran like enormous steps fit for an adult size rancor. Smaller walkway stairs were carved into the pyramid as if a lenthy lightsaber blade had sliced a perfect zig-zag up each face in the middle.

"Looks like they've done a lot with the place eh?" said Jaina touching down her fighter on the open landing area furthest away from the Vong transport analog. As a veteran from the war with the Yuuzhan Vong and mock avatar of their Trickster Goddess, Yun-Harla, she preferred to keep her distance even if the conflict was technically long over. She unfastened her ejector harness from her gear as her cockpit popped open with a light hiss letting in the native atmosphere. A dry arid woody scent entered reminding her of fire wood that had been left to dry after being wet. It was warm but not uncomfortably so as it was later into the day. Jaina stood and stretched taking off her flight helmet and gloves. She looked around and waited for a moment, until the realization struck her..

A typical landing field in most spaceports would have a dedicated team of techs and support staff to assist with passengers off their ships or at least check them in at the spaceport authority to keep a data record, take in any docking fees, filter out the undesirables, and in some cases check for contra band. As the Jedi Academy sought a sense of autonomy from most "normal" things like this the landing field was empty and there would be no such technical personnel coming. It was not like Jaina needed the help however.

She leaped over the side edge of her X-wing cockpit and used the Force to cushion her drop landing into low crouch. Her left hand pressed down on to the brown stone of the ground as her right was thrown out behind her for balance. Jaina straightened and looked around the immediate area from her lower vantage point. No one had come while the only signs of life came from occasional squawks from unseen birds in the tall wall of brush in the distance. At least Jaina thought it was birds. 'Jacen would know…'

She continued to scan the area feeling something out of place. Jaina looked up to her droid still in its designated slot of the X-wing. The dome of the astromech spun looking around as well surveying the area.

"Stay with the ship and run a system check. Call my link if-"

The orders to Cappie were cut short, her out of place feeling manifested into a surge in the Force. The sounds of birds occasionally squawking became startled high-pitched shrieks. A dozen or so black, dark red, and yellowish-brown avian creatures with round bodies and small beaks took off in all directions with large leathery wings. A figure in brown was sent crashing through the bushes landing hard into a sliding roll onto their back against a parked metallic gray opened top XP-45 landspeeder. Jaina could see it was a teenage boy as his hood was thrown off upon impact. He stood slowly, pulling himself up along the side of the landspeeder throwing off his brown robe. She could see the glint of a lightsaber on his belt as he turned to face the bushes he had been thrown through. He didn't pull his weapon but looked ready for a confrontation.

'Yep, training area…' confirmed Jaina to herself.

This did not feel like any ordinary training however, her hand slip to the pommel of her saber hilt. She could feel ripples of anger through the Force as a distinctive snap-hiss of a lightsaber activating cut through the sounds of further panicked shrieking birds fleeing. Jaina started at a sprint toward the teen boy hearing a scream. It was a girl but the scream was not one of pain or fright, it was one of frustrated anger. Jaina's sprint was stopped as a section of the tall brush wall exploded as if a small tornado had formed where the teen boy had been thrown through. Leaves scattered in all directions as small twigs and large chunks of brush landed throughout the landing field and nearby vehicles. Jaina turned away and held up her arm to block scattering shrub particles from her face.

Another teen, a girl with large curly brown hair stood there in the opening of the newly formed large hole where the boy had been thrown through previously. A blue-bladed lightsaber in hand as a constant stirring of air and leaves from invisible eddies in the Force encircled the enraged mystery youth.

"Uh oh…" muttered Jaina, recognizing the look on the girl's face all too well. With her lightsaber now in hand she rushed toward them.

"I SAW THE WAY YOU LOOKED AT HER!" the girl screamed almost in a vocal range that was barely in the range of humans. She leapt up with a Force enhanced jump, arcing her swing toward the boy in midflight. A flash of purple energy snapped into existence as two lightsaber blades connected with a crackling sparking crash. Jaina stopped the attack, parrying the other blade away with enough force to safely disarm the girl. As the other's saber clattered to the ground, Jaina concentrated the Force into her left hand to forcefully push her telekinetically to a safe distance. Jaina held her back with a firm grip using the Force extinguishing her lightsaber.

"Enough!" ordered Jaina with an authoritative voice. "This is unbecoming of Jedi!"

"Thanks" muttered the male youth who was now behind Jaina "but it's okay Miss, she wasn't serious."

"Eh...?" uttered Jaina raising a confused eyebrow. She now wondered if his head had hit too hard onto the landspeeder.

"I'll show you serious you two-faced, cheating, nerf-herding-" started the girl wailing her fists erratically toward him but Jaina's hold was firm.

"I said ENOUGH!" commanded Jaina tightening her Force grip for emphasis pushing the girl back a few inches further.

"She doesn't mean anything to me Ang," said the teen boy rubbing the back of his head nervously checking it for trauma. "she wanted help with TK. You're the only one I love… uh… I, I mean... I."

Jaina felt Ang freeze in her Force hold, physically and mentally. Rage melted from her quicker than ice left out on a Tattooine mid-day. They had all fallen silent as Jaina rolled her eyes, turning her head away slightly to hide her exasperation. An echoing squawk from a bird broke the awkward silence. 'You've got to be joking…'

"Cal?" started Ang, her ability to speak returned from initial shock. A dreamy bright-eyed look erased her previous disposition. "You… love me?"

Cal had a look of his own but it was more wide-eyed opposed to being bright-eyed. It reminded Jaina of a granite slug caught in the sonic waves of a hawk-bat shriek. Jaina released her Force grip as Ang tackled Cal in a tight unrelenting hug. Cal hung along in the embrace rather limply. A granite slug at least wiggled in an attempt to get free but Cal didn't seem to have that resolve or mental capacity. The granite slug must of had more hope of escape.

"So, I take it you're together?" asked Jaina rather impassively, feeling the situation was behind her. She reclipped her lightsaber using the Force to retrieve the one she disarmed from Ang telekinetically. Jaina didn't get a reply however as the girl still attached to Cal was off in her own little galaxy. The boy's disposition started to pale, looking even limper than before, if that was even possible.

A fresh feeling of frustration started to creep back into Jaina, eyebrow twitching. Being ignored was almost as bad as getting in the middle of the teen relationship squabble in the first place. 'Yeah, they're together…'

Jaina coughed clearing her throat audibly but she may as well have been cold atmospheric vapor. She ignited Ang's lightsaber with a snap-hiss. The Jedi trainees turned their attention back to her. 'That did it.'

"You two need to learn to solve disputes among yourselves without resorting to… this." said Jaina holding forward the ignited lightsaber for emphasis. Depressing the activation plate she deactivated the circuit, shutting down the blue blade. She opened her palm balancing the hilt in her open hand and waited for Ang to retake possession.

"Thanks" muttered Ang, reclaiming her lightsaber with a less than enthused look. She probably did not like being lectured by Jaina but then again what teenager ever liked being told what to do especially from a complete stranger.

Deciding that this was no longer her place Jaina turned away from the couple walking the other way. She walked into something that apparently had snuck up behind her.

"Sorry!" said Jaina startled, taking a half step back looking down at her obstacle. It was a domed topped green and white R2 unit. It whistled a greeting as its legs rocked side to side excitedly.

"Whistler! Good to see you again too." she said with a smile patting the dome of the droid. 'If Whistler's here that means…'

Another figure was coming from the direction of the temple in a flowing emerald colored robe and lighter green under tunic. He was walking toward them at a brisk pace as Jaina immediately recognized her friend.

"Corran!" greeted Jaina raising a waving hand. She smiled at seeing the Corellian Jedi Master but immediately realized the two younger Jedi trainees were watching behind her. Jaina eased her enthusiasm and bowed her head slightly in a more formal show of respect and greeting to set an example. "Master Horn…"

"Good to see you Sticks," said Corran returning the greeting with a formal nod of his own "and please, no formalities among us Rogues or else I'll have to start to call you Colonel."

"As ordered" said Jaina with a light hearted half-salute, "but you should know I'm neither right now."

"I see," replied Corran, gesturing to follow. They started to walk from the landing field toward the temple leaving behind the trainees. "I suspected it something important for you to leave the fleet."

The Jedi trainees watched them as Cal picked up his robe dusting it off before putting it back on. Master Horn, without turning back, raised his left hand, pointed in their direction, then at the ground, and drew a circle in the air toward the ground. Cal and Ang got the silent hand gesture translation of "clean this mess up". There was no hand gesture worked out for "you idiot apprentices" otherwise Cal believed he would of used those too. The boy rubbed his right shoulder gingerly standing next to Ang.

"Who was THAT?" said Cal, watching Jaina walk away with peaked interest. Ang closed her eyes hard clenching her fists. In doing so she replied to his interest with the snap-hiss of her lightsaber. It was good that Force speed was a natural talent of his.

"What about those two?" said Jaina, sensing the renewed disturbance behind them. She decided it was probably common place if Corran did not bother to look back.

"Oh, Calen and Angeli…" laughed the older Jedi, "Teenagers. Emotions running high." They break out in a fight at least once a day on a slow day. Even with Jedi training they're getting to that stage where hormones and duty are mixing like a loose electrical wire in a bacta tank.

"Right," said Jaina with a small laugh. She thought about her own youth fueled indiscretions as some were just plain silly but innocent. Well, mostly innocent. "the good ol days."

They turned a corner exchanging idle chatter and walked toward an open space into a courtyard where several vined plants had taken residence on to the brown pillars and walls all surrounding a central fountain that bubbled with crystal clear water. Movement along the pillar had caught their eye as a female blue-grayish skinned Yuuzhan Vong shaper was tending to the vine plants taking biological samples for reasons only the Vong of her shaper caste could fathom. This should not have surprised Jaina due to seeing their bio-organic transport on the landing field, yet, it did.

Jaina did not let her surprise show, but the surprise itself did not come from the shaper's uniquely biologically modified appearance. She had far more experience with the Vong than most sentient beings in the galaxy and had seen every type of their castes. It was a fact that even with fully trained Jedi enhanced senses the Yuuzhan Vong could not be sensed with in the Force. It was a blind spot in the spectrum of the Force itself that the Jedi were not able to see. For that reason and many other reasons they were extremely deadly as adversaries to the Jedi during the Vong War. Their bio-organic vessels and biological weapons had devastated thousands of words and killed countless beings by the wars end.

As a form of penance after their defeat the Vong had offered to terraform, or rather "Vongform", the mostly dead world of Ossus. As the former legendary stronghold to the Jedi Order of the Old Republic, it had been devastated by a cataclysm which ended the Golden Age of the Jedi bring that epoch to an end some thousands of years earlier.

More recently the planet had undergone a rebirth as the home to the New Jedi Order's Jedi Academy after abandoning Yavin IV's praxeum during the Vong War. Ossus was the first planet to begin testing "Vongforming" and if successful not the last. The Vong shaper caste was currently in the process to adapt their own bio-techniques to the remaining native biology of this planet and the galaxy in general. In doing so the rebirth of the foreign ecosystem to the Vong would take time and would take years perhaps even generations. In the scale of evolutionary time however, this was akin to less than a second in a standard Ossus day.

The Vong shaper ignored them as they walked past the circular fountain and left Jaina, Corran, and Whistler to themselves.

"Are you and Jag are well?" asked Corran casually on the topic of relationship small-talk.

Jaina stopped walking as Corran paused a step ahead of her. She had been so preoccupied with her own duties and personal grief that she had forgotten. Jaina didn't forget about Jag himself but she had forgotten about them, together. It was difficult at the best of times but the emotional toll, time and distance apart, and her current mental blocks. This had already put their relationship in hiatus, perhaps even permanently.

"Could be better." said Jaina staring at the water from the fountain ripple and bubble as it cascaded quietly into the receiving basin. She was holding back of course as she did not want to discuss the personal matter. Since Jaina had not thought about it in a while it was hard not to think about anything else once it was mentioned. Jaina took a seat at the edge of the fountain passing her hand into the cool water along the surface thinking of the best way to sum up without getting deeply personal. "His duties and mine keep us apart more often than we'd like."

"Sounds like your parent's relationship." said Corran with a slight smirk considering her.

Jaina returned the smirk, conceding the point silently. The courtship of Princess Leia by her father, the notorious smuggler gone respectable, Han Solo, was the stuff of galactic legends. Several holo-dramas were even produced of her parent's epic romantic tale under the classic theme of "love in a time of war", much to the chagrin of her father. Jaina's personal favorite was "The Last Princess and a Scoundrel" mainly for the action elements but oddly enough the story hinted at an odd love interest between her mother and Uncle Luke. Jaina shuddered slightly at the idea. 'What were they thinking…'

"So what brings you back to school?" asked Corran sensing a close to that topic of conversation. Whistler parked next to him, humming softly as the Jedi Master patted his long time mechanical friend.

Jaina stood wiping her wet hand on her orange flight suit. She reached into the pocketed slot behind her comm pad pulling out a data card, handing it over to Corran. He took the card with questioning glance.

"I believe I've been targeted by a group called The Grey Fangs." said Jaina seriously. "They maybe targeting all of us, I don't know for sure. I wanted everyone warned before going off to investigate myself."

"When I was in Corsec, we had bulletins issued concerning some of their members and ships." said Corran eyeing the card. "They were called just The Fangs then. However, since they never really entered Corellian jurisdiction, we never investigated fully. Their main interest was piracy as far as we knew. "

"Well their interests have changed." she said with a hardened expression "They attacked the Ralroost on a diplomatic blue milk run and I believe they were after me."

"You believe they are after you?" he repeated in a questioned. Hunches were an important part of any investigator's arsenal. Corran knew this better than most considering his past with Corsec. More often than not his gut was right on the credits even before becoming a Jedi, a precursor of Force lead intuition or intuition lead by the Force, perhaps a little of both. Therefore, this coming from a friend, and fellow Jedi, was being taken more seriously than a mere gut feeling on his part.

"Maybe after us all." replied Jaina stoically.

"Alright Sticks," said Corran with a reassuring nod. He bent down next Whistler inserting the card into a designated data slot below the main optical sensor. "I guess we'll take a look at what we have here and pass the word along."

"Good." said Jaina quietly as a slight relief came over her.

"Whistler, take that to main comm room and begin slicing a brief. Send a coded transmission to everyone else off world with that data. Mark it as a Priority One, code yellow."

"Thanks Corran" she said as the droid whistled in understanding and wheeled off to complete the task. "Any news from Uncle Luke and Ben?

"Luke is away in closed discussions with some Alliance officials on Coruscant. Ben is with him." he answered Jaina. "So not much in the way of news yet. Kyle, Tionne, and Kam are also there so I've been subbing for their classes here. They we're expected to be back early tomorrow morning."

"I see." said Jaina slightly disappointed, as she was hoping to see her uncle and nephew Ben Skywalker. Family visits where a rarity now a days. When reunions did happen it was usually the latest crisis or disaster in the galaxy that would bring them together. Missing family was a trend Jaina was becoming far too familiar with lately.

"But until then, you can rest here." suggested Corran with a welcoming gesture. "A room will been made ready."

Jaina turned away, "Thanks, but I should-".

"I'm sure you must be tired from you're jump." said Corran cutting her off before she could refuse further. "Those hyperspace jumps are long and even harder to get rest during especially in a fighter."

"It's not that bad actually," said Jania turning halfway to look back at Corran with a playful look "Cappie and I play Sabacc on the tac display. A little program I cooked up a while ago and sliced into the XJ7s tactical HUD..."

"…so I should get going." said Jaina turning away again back toward the landing field.

"You're no use to anyone exhausted and cranky Jaina." countered Corran "Refresher techniques shouldn't be a substitute for sleep when you can get it in a safe bed."

"But our enemies will feel the wrath of my crankiness." retorted Jaina jokingly but not looking back. She was tired, very tired, but she felt her need to leave, to press on, and just not engage anyone more than she had to. Jaina knew that if she did look back she would be more inclined to stay when all she really wanted was to go. Her anxiety rose, feeling that staying the night would be counter-productive to her own mission and more over her mental state.

"But the exhaustion will bring you down." Corran replied with firm reasoning. "Besides, it's always nice to have the apprentices see you. A lot of them are newer but they know of you as the "Sword of the Jedi". You're an inspiration to many of them."

'So was Jacen…' thought Jaina lowering her head in sudden remorse. She closed her eyes and clenched her jaw with her back to the green clad Jedi Master. Jaina didn't want to be an inspiration. An inspiring person would not be Jaina Solo and the way she felt. An inspiring person would have been stronger for her family and protected the people they loved. An inspiring person would have been able to save their brother in the end.

Jaina had heard of her own grandfather's redemption from Uncle Luke. Anakin Skywalker had fallen to the Darkside as Darth Vader for far longer than Jacen had. Yet, her uncle was able to save him. At the end of her grandfather's life he was brought back to the light. The wounding of her grandfather in their last lightsaber duel was in fact not life threatening being that it was a mechanical hand that was severed. In fact, that moment had made her Uncle Luke realize his own weakness and the true strength of Jedi resolve, to choose harmony over anger, and to break the hold of the Darkside over himself and in doing so, his long lost father Anakin Skywalker.

The Emperor's attack had subsequently destroyed the mechanical life support and had caused further internal damage mortally wounding Anakin Skywalker. For Jaina, Jacen had also been brought back to the light before his end, yet it felt hallow. Her brother did not need to die by her hand, if only she had been truly stronger and overall not have given up. 'Both my brothers are dead. Jacen, because of me, and I'm the inspiration?'

Jaina's family was broken in that sense and its Jedi lineage weakened. Her Jedi family which held such promise as the next generation of guardians for the galaxy could not even guard themselves. Yet, she considered her "Jedi family" further. As the New Jedi Order being so few relative to the thousands of Jedi Knights who were the backbone of the Old Republic, meant close bonds to those who have trained diligently in the ways of the Jedi. Those who had become talented with the use of the Force to become this generation of Jedi Knights joined an exclusive brotherhood, a family in the Force. Her Jedi family of extended brothers and sisters, not related by blood, but by bond. 'If I left now would I be betraying that bond even slightly? Is this where a fall begins? What was it for you Jacen?'

"Alright, till tomorrow morning." said Jaina after further consideration. She turned to face Corran. He merely smiled as if he already knew the outcome. The Grey Fangs thought she was dead and the rest of the order would be warned. 'Guess I could use a little break.'

Jaina's temporary room at the temple was spartan but sizable, it was about twice the space she had on the Ralroost making it less claustrophobic.  It had all the basic amenities that most beings would need. A well-lit glow panel in the ceiling brightened the interior. A plain simple desk and chair of a lightly stained wood was next to a standard size bed with fresh pile of clean plain blue linens and a pillow. A comm unit built into the brown stone wall was next to an unadorned meter-wide circular mirror. Across the way, a smaller dresser station built into a closet long enough in height to hold and assortment of robes, tunics, and other Jedi oriented accessories. There was a novel lightsaber charging station built into the stone of the wall which the previous Academy on Yavin IV never had. Most importantly to Jaina however, a personal refresher station with full privacy was a smaller room onto itself. Jedi did not need much but a nice refresher station was always appreciated after hours in a flight suit especially after a long exhaustive mission.

Jaina placed her travel tote on her bed utilizing the refresher for a fast shower. She laid out her flight gear on the desk for easy access tomorrow morning but she relished the opportunity to change into fresh clothes. Reclipping her lightsaber she recalled Corran mentioning an evening class which was already underway. The time slot was set aside for training Force-sensitives who were nocturnal in nature and as such would be more inclined toward the evening hours. An early morning class would be the equivalent for the typical diurnal human. This class in particular was tailored for younger trainees who had just begun their path to Jedi Knighthood. As such, the Corellian Jedi Master had asked Jaina to drop in and "inspire".

Jaina looked in the circular mirror seeing her reflection stare back indiscriminately with an expression of plain indifference. She pursed her lips slightly and shook her head.

"Another fine mess you got me into" said Jaina to her reflection. Quickly running her fingers through her lengthy and slightly damp brown hair she left for the training arena.

"You are no Luke Skywalkers," said Corran addressing the new Jedi trainees before him. They practiced one of Grand Master Skywalker's original training techniques "but even Luke Skywalker was no Master Skywalker when he started."

The apprentices, ranging from 12-16 years of age, lightsabers ignited deflecting bolts away from free floating seeker drones. All were deprived of their sight with blinders and well-spaced from one another in their own exercise space to insure no incidental lightsaber mishaps. The whirring and hum of energy blades filled the area as they moved through the air to intercept the non-lethal but stinging bolts fired from the free moving remotes. The bolts splattered into the walls, the air, the ground, and occasionally into an unfocused trainee followed by occasional cursing muttered under breathe. Some succeeded as others had difficulty as fresh welts bore the sign of a miss deflection. Cal and Ang being a couple years older than this group were assigned by Master Horn to the evening training class to assist with the training. This was not voluntary.

Due to their behavior at the landing field earlier that day, Corran decided to keep the duo busy and restrict their free time while keeping them under watch. It was his hope that they would learn patience and responsibility in assisting younger Jedi trainees but now he wondered if he was just setting himself for aggravation and a test of his own Jedi patience.

The Corellian Jedi Master watched as Cal "helped" a blonde girl, deflecting bolts away for her when she was not focused enough to react in time. He engaged her in coy conversation which was the cause of the loss of focus in the first place. Moreover he had become oblivious to other trainees in the immediate area who could have also used guidance.

On the other end, Ang watched Cal seething, as Corran watched her gripping her lightsaber till her knuckles whitened. The trainee whom she was "helping", a small rodent-like Chadra-fan by the name of Klee'ki, was now being peppered with yellow seeker bolts as Ang had apparently activated the "advanced" setting of the remote using the Force. After a few seconds of panicked high pitched squealing from Klee'ki did another student realize what had happen sensing the distress in the Force. The seeker drone was deactivated to the relief of the well stung young Chadra-fan. As with Cal, Ang was oblivious to her surroundings once emotions took over.

"Evening Master Horn" said Jaina who had walked up beside him.

'Speaking of oblivious to surroundings…' thought Corran concerning himself. Having been so focused on what he had dubbed the "duel-some two-some" he didn't even sense Jaina approach. She had changed into a mid-gray tunic with lightly colored pants. Her lightsaber hung on a brown leather belt which matched her brown well-worn traveling boots. A dark gray scarf enwrapped her neck trailing slightly behind her as she walked.

"Master again eh?" retorted Corran raising an eyebrow, "Feeling more comfortable in regular clothes then Colonel Solo?"

"You're in the middle of instruction of the next generation of Jedi Knights." said Jaina with hint of admiration. "A proper show of respect offered by those who have not taken on apprentices of their own is only natural, MASTER Horn."

Corran accepted the reasoning looking to Cal and Ang again.

"Maybe we'll have to remedy that Sticks…" he said quietly.

"Huh?" said Jaina with a confused blink. She reframed from asking further as Corran walked forward to address his trainees.

"Remember your feet everyone, you won't be standing still to protect anyone or yourselves." instructed the Jedi Master. Moving into the center of the training field Jaina trailed Corran observing the students with passing interest. "Adjust with the movement of your remote and remember; sense it. Feel it's intent through the Force and keep in mind you don't need to always deflect. Dodging is fine but the main point is not to get hit and not to have the people you protect get hit."

Jaina sensed the blind trainees slight relief at hearing this. Some, rather than intercepting bolts with their blades, concentrated on the movement the drone evading the bolts discharge before they could land with basic dodging. A couple found a balance between dodging and deflection and a few could do neither getting stung much to their frustration.

"Alright, sabers down, blinders off." said Corran. The trainees obeyed deactivating their lightsabers and removing their blinders. He gathered everyone in a loose open circle. "Let's have a demonstration. Cal? Ang?"

The two stepped forward none too enthusiastically but without protest. Ang shot Cal a harsh look but the boy did not seem to have taken note which annoyed her further. With a huff she turned away from him putting on her blinder with lightsaber in hand. Cal became preoccupied seeing Jaina in the crowd, the teen froze with a sloppy boyish smile, and apparently all other mental function ceased. Ang turned back raising her blinder to see his eyes, tracking the source of his distraction. A rather rough backhanded slap to his shoulder bought him back down to Ossus. Cal dawned his blinder as Jaina raised a brow dismissively folding her arms.

"Jedi Ready?" asked Corran. The two raised their lightsaber hilts, back-to-back, in the same open wide stance left-foot forward. They ignited their weapons in a simultaneous snap-hiss with a firm two-handed grip. Raising their sabers they angled the blades straight to the sky. They brought the shafts of the blades away from their blinded faces, ready to start swinging from their right to left respectively. Opening themselves to Force they felt it flow into their actions.

"Jedi Ready." they replied in unison. Four remotes activated encircling the pair diving and juking randomly, spitting bolts of energy at the pair in a blur of quick successive motions. Cal and Ang, whatever their personal issues with each other, did work incredibly well as a team with in the Force. Shifting and compensating for the steps and movements of the other, they tracked the motions of the four drone remotes and protect themselves, each other, and even the circle of younger apprentices now watching. They deflected the bolts into the air and into the ground without incident and showed great competence doing so. The younger students watched in admiration of the skillful ability being presented in this lightsaber deflection drill by their senior classmates.

"We're almost finished for today and we'll be having our evening meal soon." whispered Corran to Jaina as they observed. Ang and Cal had not missed a single deflection yet.

"Sounds good," said Jaina nostalgically. She recalled the deflection drills she would do for hours on end with Jacen but could not remember the last time she trained like that with anyone and was not sure she ever would again. It seemed like a life time ago now.

Jaina smiled as an earlier memory of training with her brother surfaced. She no longer saw Cal and Ang demonstrating but Jacen and herself at their age. They were one with The Force, each other moving in their intricate set of defensive dance steps. Improvised fluid motions that only they knew, only they could produce. They were both smiling without a word as if one of them had mentioned an inside joke and they were the sole beings in the galaxy exclusive to its punch line.

For that one instant Jaina remembered what it was like to be happy again with her brother at her back and vice versa. He wasn't really gone, it was just an elborate joke. Jacen was the joker of the family after all, trying to get people to laugh at his special brand of humor, especially their overly serious friend Tenel Ka. He could never turn to the Darkside, he could never become Darth Cadeus, he would never leave her side cos this was Jacen and Jaina. The twins. The best friends. How it should be…

How it should have always been.

Her smile lingered on the memory seeing that Cal and Ang had talent and a lot of potential meshing complimentary into the Force. Both were straining from the effort but drew upon the Force to refresh their reserves of stamina. Cal sensed Jaina's feelings radiate for that moment in her nostalgia. Feeling emboldened by his prowess, he began to add unnecessary flourish to his movements. Ang sensed the change of movement immediately in the Force sensingng his inclination and knowing the cause responded. Her movements became faster, hard and unyielding. Even without her eyes visible she shot Jaina a glare in her direction as deflections became sloppy and erratic. The shift in the Force from the two snapped Jaina back to reality.

"We're not eating anything made by Vong, uh… methods?" asked Jaina coming back to the topic of dinner. "If that's the case I have ration bars in my ship left over from the Vong War that I'd rather eat."

"I hope you have enough for two if that was the case." he replied with a laugh agreeing fully. The Corellian Jedi had his own sorted field of experiences with the Yuuzhan Vong during the war. He knew more about fighting them than most people would ever want to know in several lifetimes, more than anyone normal person could live with in all reality. "I'm not trusting anything they put back on this rock as food or even decoration, but we've imported other foods from off world. Even some Corelli-!"

Battle instincts flared as Jaina drew her lightsaber weapon in a swift motion but Corran was faster reaching out with a bare hand to intercept. He quickly dissipated the energy from a stinging bolt using the rarest of all Jedi abilities: the ability to absorb high states of kinetic energy and redirect the power at will using the Force. The remotes were switched to their stand by modes as the sounds of humming lightsabers fell silent shutting down. Cal removed his blinder completely in confusion as Ang slowly lifted hers on to her forehead slowly pushing them back into her thick brown curly hair. A blank look came over her face as the realization of what she had done had hit full. The deflected bolt had come from her lightsaber and it had been sent towards Jaina intentionally.

"Angeli…" said Corran sternly but calm, narrowing his gaze on her. All eyes were upon on her.

"I… I'm sorry," she said humbly to Jaina. Ang bowed her head beginning to tear. "I didn't mean, I'm just- I'm very sorry."

"Forget about it." said Jaina giving her a reassuring nod. "I'm sure it was just a mishandled deflection. Right?"

Ang didn't speak being slightly overwhelmed but she realized what Jaina was doing. She gave a nod toward Jaina putting on a brave small smile in turn. It was a nod of thanks to Jaina rather than a confirmation of "mishandling", appreciating the way out of the blackhole she had spectacularly novaed herself into.

"Right" repeated Ang meekly with a bow of her head to Jaina.

"Right." repeated Corran reading the non-verbals between the two women. It was about that time to wrap up the lesson anyway. He controlled his tone but remained focused on Ang to insure she would especially be the receiver of his final thought for the evenings lesson. "This lesson is something we'll all have to meditate on and practice. You'll all need to learn control if you are to be Jedi. Control over your power within the Force will be the key in protecting yourself and those you care for. Alright, let's clean up."

With that the younger students filtered through the area gathering deactivated remote drones, blinders, and other training aids placing them in storage bins neatly and orderly. Others started to sweep up stray dust as some aided by the Force blew dust clouds out of the training area using toned downed versions of a Force push. Cal had taken Ang to an isolated corner of the training area on the stone bleachers of the field to talk amongst themselves, quietly for once. Jaina picked up a remote closest to her that had lost power earlier on and was on the ground palming the device.

"Thanks for the hand." she said to Corran, handing the drone to Klee'ki, who had approached to take the remote from her. The small Chadra Fan closed his dark bat-like eyes and bowed politely with a squeak which sounded like a fast "Thank you" running off to put the remote into storage with the others.

"Doesn't even sting anymore." said Corran holding out his intact palm. Corran looked out seeing the area cleaned to his satisfaction as the students began to talk with each other. "It's me who should be apologizing Jaina. They are both talented, but they just need more guidance and real experience."

"I'm sure they'll get plenty of that soon." replied Jaina with a nod confidence in her friend. Corran simply gave smile in response looking to the field of trainees.

"Everyone," he said loudly getting their attention "gather around, I have someone to introduce you too."

Jaina felt slightly out of place she looked at the young faces now staring at her. Cal and Ang walked up behind the younger trainees being a head taller than most of them. Ang seemed to have regained her composure as Cal's habit for distraction had disappeared for the moment.

"Some of you may know of her already," continued Corran, gesturing to Jaina besides him. "but this is Jaina Solo, niece of Grand Master Skywalker and daughter of Jedi Leia Organa and Han Solo. She is one of the finest Jedi of our generation. The Sword of the Jedi as some of you know her by. If you train hard and work diligently perhaps you can be as skilled as she is one day."

"Don't think I'll ever get use to that nickname…" whispered Jaina to Corran from the side of her mouth. She raised a hand in a small wave to the awe struck crowd of young Jedi. Many were stuck with surprise while others whispered to each other unintelligibly but with a general tone of excitement. Ang gasped, covering her mouth in a quick gasp. Cal had gone paler than Jaina had previously seen as his mouth gaped rather dumb struck.

"'Sticks' doesn't sound as exciting here." replied Corran shrugging casually.

"You're Jaina Solo?!" said Ang stepping forward, her voice a mixture of awe and distress. She bowed her head feeling further foolish by her actions. "I just… I, I'm so sorry!"

"Angeli? Isn't it?" asked Jaina with a passively friendly tone.

"Yes," the other replied rather docilely, "but my friends call me Ang, Ang Vanec."

"Well then…" said Jaina stepping forward to face the younger Jedi extending her a hand. "…Ang. No hard feelings. Know and trust your feelings and know that they are true with in the Force. It's the trust we place in ourselves and each other as Jedi. Have faith in it."

"Spoken like a true Master…" said Corran as his eyes looked up innocently while tapping his bearded chin thoughtfully with his index finger. Jaina glanced at the older Jedi and saw the smirk beginning to form. It was the same type of Corellian smirk her father would give when he had one of those "I got an idea…" moments.

"Yes Master Solo," replied Ang with a smile nodding taking Jaina's open hand in a firm shake. "It won't happen again."

"Oh, no… Ang," said Jaina taken aback, albeit pleasantly at being recognized as a Master. She released her grip, scratching the back of her head laughing at the outlandish idea. "I'm just a Knight, like you will be very soon. I haven't taken any apprentices."

"Hmmm… I dunno Jaina." injected Corran with a full blown Corellian smirk, rubbing his bearded chin in mock contemplation. "I kinda like the sound of Master Solo."

"Don't start Master Horn." replied Jaina, now wary but unsure of the corner she was being maneuvered into.

"Well actually," said Corran with a gleam in his eye. "I was just thinking you could use a hand in your investigation…"

"I don't like where your targeting telemetry is going MASTER Horn…" said Jaina with a look of full understanding with more than a hint of warning in her voice. 'Blast you Horn… you're not serious.'

"Cal and Ang can use the field experience." said Corran rather nonchalantly. "From the intel you got to us, it looked like a basic case of tracking and relaying intel back to GA command."

"It's not gonna be that simple," retorted Jaina looking further annoyed. Cal upon hearing this joined Ang up front watching the adults discuss with peaking interest. "and besides one person can track faster than three Horn."

'What happened to "Master"?' thought Corran as his internal self-image temporarily shrinking. He knew this was too good of an opportunity to pass up however and pushed nudging it forwards.

"We'd be honored to assist you Master Solo!" chimed in Ang with an eager look taking a step forward as if Jaina had been asking for volunteers.

"Absolutely Jaina!" said Cal in support. He quickly realized that he had not shown proper Jedi etiquette and corrected himself blushing. He proceeded to enter an asteroid field of words and was clearly talking blind-folded. "I mean… Master beautiful. Solo! I meant Solo! Not beautiful! I mean, not the you're not Master Solo. Beautiful that is. You are but…"

Jaina watched with confusion and mild horror as Cal's nervous rant continued. Ang rolled her eyes taking the initiative to stop his rambling. A loud crack, like lightening splitting a Wroshyr tree, caused all the younger trainees along with Corran and Jaina to wince in sympathy for Cal. It did however stop him from further embarrassment.

"What Cal meant is he is honored to help as well." translated Ang as if nothing happen. Her fists were clenched with a slight tremble as Cal had fallen to the floor in a daze.

'Hutty simp…' thought Angeli folding her arms unconcerned like nothing had happened.

"You had this in mind all along." said Jaina with a lowered voice directly to Corran. She ignored the youthful onlookers, her voice was now one of barely checked annoyance.

"I have no idea what you're talking about Master Solo." replied Corran shrugging as his eyes looked up and away feigning mock innocents. "but I do approve of this plan."

"When did this become a plan?!" exclaimed Jaina with an incredulous stare. An eyebrow slightly twitched with agitation giving away her frustration. A thought occurred realizing the loop hole of his "plan". 'Time to give you a Corellian slip and take back control Horn.'

"Wait a tic…" said Jaina smirking holding up a hand. Her "Aha!" moment became clear realizing how she could ditch the extra baggage. "I only have my XJ7. Room for only one I'm afraid…"

Corran tilted his head with a look of acceptance, nodding silently at the over sight on his part. Apparently he had not considered Jaina's lack of passenger capacity. She was home free, giving a Corellian smirk of her own in victory at the older Jedi Master. 'Gotcha!'

"…and I was starting to look forward to this." added Jaina feigning her own mock sentiments, ending with a quick scrunched face in Corran's direction rather childishly. 'You'll have to do better than that next time Horn!'

"Oh good," replied Corran grinning triumphantly. Jaina froze, a sinking feeling grew like she had just been out maneuvered in the worst way possible and was about to be blown out of the stars. "I'm glad the plan was growing on you because Cal and Ang are flight certified and were assigned their own XJs last week. I instructed them myself."

"Of course you did…" she replied annoyingly stunned, having cornered herself into Corran's trap. Jaina sighed, conceding defeat. 'Stang it… '

"We leave tomorrow morning at zero-900." said Jaina turning to her new baggage. "If you guys are late I'm leaving without you."

"Yes Master Solo!" replied Cal and Ang in unison excitedly bowing quickly running off.

"Great!" said Corran triumphantly, turning away muttering to himself quietly "maybe now we have some peace around here."

"WHAT?!" exclaimed Jaina who had suddenly grown to rancor-like proportions

"Nothing!" yelled back Horn over his should running from the scene, his green robes fluttered behind him as the youngest trainees giggled. "Dinners calls! Class dismissed!

The sun had already set as the sky turned a deep purple with hues of brownish-orange. A flock of birds took flight from the brush area squawking at yet another disturbance at the Jedi Academy.

"HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORN!"
